Dr. Paul Novakovich, Orthopedic Surgeon, is dedicated to providing complete orthopedic care to Acadiana. Dr. Novakovich is fellowship-trained in Sports Medicine and specializes in the diagnosis, treatment and management of a wide range of musculoskeletal (bone, joint and muscle) problems with an emphasis on treatment of athletic injuries. After receiving his medical degree from Louisiana State University School of Medicine in Shreveport, Louisiana, Dr. Novakovich completed his Orthopedic residency at the University of Alabama in Birmingham. Next, he completed a fellowship in Sports Medicine working side by side with famed Orthopedic surgeon Dr. James Andrews at the Andrews Institute in Gulf Breeze, Florida. During this year, Dr. Novakovich received additional training in management of sports related injuries including Tommy John surgery, ACL reconstructions, and numerous other conditions affecting high school, college, and professional athletes. Throughout his training, Dr. Novakovich has provided sports medicine coverage for Auburn University, AA Cincinnati Reds in Pensacola, and various high school teams in Louisiana, Alabama, and Florida. Dr. Novakovich has also instructed other orthopedic surgeons on arthroscopic techniques and has worked on numerous research projects involving Rotator Cuff Repairs, Shoulder Dislocations, and Ulnar Collateral Ligament Treatment. Professional affiliations include the Alpha Omega Alpha Honor Society, the American Academy of Orthopaedic Surgeons, American Orthopaedic Society for Sports Medicine, Arthroscopy Association of North America, and American Medical Association.
