Regional Medical Center of Acadiana and Cardiovascular Institute of the South (CIS) are proud to announce the addition of cardiologist Louis Salvaggio, MD to our cardiology team at 2730 Ambassador Caffery Parkway.
Dr. Salvaggio is board certified in internal medicine, cardiology and interventional cardiology. He earned his doctorate at Louisiana State University School of Medicine in New Orleans. His internal medicine residency was completed at Louisiana State University Health Sciences Center in Baton Rouge, and he continued his studies at Ochsner Heart and Vascular Institute, where he completed his cardiology fellowship. Lastly, he completed his interventional cardiology fellowship at Scripps Clinic in San Diego, California.
Dr. Salvaggio is a member of the American Medical Association, Louisiana State Medical Society, American College of Cardiology, and American Society of Nuclear Cardiology. He was also named the Ochsner Medical Center Fellow of the Year in 2010.
